COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
At Stimson, we believe in being a good partner and neighbor in the communities where we live and work. As a company — and as employees — we are proud to actively contribute to our communities. We donate our time and resources, open our land for recreation, and serve as a valued partner to businesses and residents.

Dream Hunt
Stimson has partnered with the Outdoor Dream Foundation for over 17 years to host a “dream hunt” outdoor adventure for kids with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. Drew Jones thanks Stimson and his family for making his dream a reality in the summer of 2022 in Oregon.
Home Depot Foundation
Stimson employees have volunteered for several years to support the annual Home Depot Foundation volunteer efforts. In 2018, employees helped build 20 custom children’s playhouses for the San Diego Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Program in El Cajon, California. This program supports the children of veteran families throughout San Diego County.

Pioneer Courthouse Christmas Tree
Every year since 2009, our foresters have selected a tree from our local timberlands to serve as the Christmas tree at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland, Oregon.
Recreational Access
Stimson is one of the last private land owners to open its timberlands at certain times of the year for hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. For more information, see Oregon Recreation and Stimson Inland Recreation.
Boy Scouts of America
Stimson Lumber and ESCO joined forces to support the 2017 Boy Scouts of America service weekend at Camp Clark on the Oregon Coast. Volunteers helped replace aging tent platforms with new mini-dacs. These framed and sided wood structures with steel roofs are designed to withstand the coastal weather and to provide a dry sleeping space for campers. Campsite upgrades began several years ago at Camp Clark and continue with a different campsite upgraded each year.

Viking House
Stimson is proud to support the Forest Grove High School construction program – the Viking House – by donating wall studs. The Viking House is a single-family home project built by Advanced Construction students from Forest Grove High School in Forest Grove, Oregon. Students annually complete a new home or facility project and work closely with industry professionals to develop carpentry and building skills.
